However, at a young age it was apparent to the child that society didn't expect or even understand her kind. She wasn't to discouraged by this and instead of making friends at school, she made friends at a nearby forest.
This forest called Aoi Kokoro, was where she trained in her ability to talk to animals. Her best friend was Ai was a blue bird that followed her around everywhere she went. The odd duo were nearly impossible to separate but when Nami turned ten her grandmother died, leaving her mother grief stricken. Nami's mother could no longer bare to look at her own child since she resembled her grandmother so much and sent her to live with their aunt in the U.S.
Nami's aunt, Chihiro, was a vile witch of the sea and didn't get along with Nami. Chihiro made Nami sail with her around the world and protect her domain. During this time, Nami befriended many sea birds and this made her powers grow even stronger. Fearing her own niece, Chihiro sent Nami to land on her eighteenth birthday believing Nami could fend for herself.
Relieved and thankful, Nami had found herself in New York. Here she made a home for herself by central park.

The forest was loud with the chatter of the birds. Nami dropped her schoolbag and looked up, alarmed. "What's wrong?" She asked to the open sky. As if to answer her question, a blue jay swooped down and landed on her shoulder.
He whispered, "Someone is saying the ancestor to the wind has been reborn. Says they've seen a white bird flying high in the sky."
"A... A white bird? Like a dove?" Nami asked and wondered why the birds would be having such a fuss over a dove but she had caught the blue jay's first statement. 'The ancestor to the wind... what's that even mean? How can the wind, a being-less entity and source of power have a child...'"No no foolish girl!"The Blue jay squawked and then suddenly the forest went silent. A mist gather at Nami's feet and she shivered. "It's coming! It's coming! Up! Look up!" The blue jay whispered. Nami's curious hues of green glanced at the night sky and she gasped. There, in the midst of the stars was a scaled best with white wings and green eyes. It flew high up into the sky and seemed to disappear in the moon's light.
"Wha, what was that thing?" Nami said in awe just as the forest grew noisier again.
"Returned! The ancestor has returned!" The blue jay screeched in the little girl's ear before taking off to join it's fellows in the bracnhes. Nami stood there, staring at the moon wondering if the beautiful scaled creature would swoop down again in the night sky.__________________________________
